Chemical Injuries Of Ocular

Chemical injuries of ocular are included in the most urgent of ocular emergencies. Bad effect severity depends on the solution pH, time of contact, quantity of solution, and ability to penetrate into ocular. Solution pH can be acidic or alkali.

Alkali burns are usually more destructive that react with fats to form soaps, which damage cell membranes, destroy the cell structure, epithelium, stroma and endothelium which allowing further penetration of the alkali into the eye and may continue to penetrate the cornea long after the initial trauma.

Erectile Dysfunction (Male Impotence)

Appoximately 15 milion men in America have some degree of erectile dysfunction. Up to eight percent of cases is caused by biologic factors. Psychogenic factors are also important.

Erectile dysfunction is inability to attain or mantain penile erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. In the sacral cord (S2-S4), there are parasympathetic nerves. These nerves participate in erection. The sympathetic nerves arise from cells in T11-T12 levels of the spinal cord through the hypogastric plexus. These nerves are important in ejaculation. The parasympathetic activity release nitric oxide (local tissue mediators) and cGMP that contributing to sustained erection.

Hysterical Aphonia

Hysterical aphonia is a functional disorder. It is not organic laryngeal paralysis. Patient with hysterical aphonia can not adduct the vocal cords when attempting to speak. Psychogenic condition subh as emotional may cause aphonia. The patient hopes to be relieved of an unpleasant duty through loss of his voice.  We can take an example ; if the amateur speaker is unable to prepare his topic,he will become aphonia. This condition make he able to cancel his speech without embarrasment.

Pulmonary Embolism Emergency Case

So far, pulmonary embolism cause hemoptysis that much be found at internal medicine patient room or surgery patient room. This condition especially seen in geriatric patients that always lying on their bed because of heart failure or during operation time.

Outside of hospital, pulmonary embolism can be found on patient who just go out from the hospital after got surgery, at pregnant women, or women use contraception pill.
